Sunday in Guangzhou

This morning we managed to spend the whole day sightseeing.  We began by taking a bus to the 6 Banyan Temple.  It was beautiful and interesting and, quite frankly sad.  While I can appreciate the devotion that I saw in many people, I felt so sad that they don't serve the one true God.  It actually made me so homesick for our wonderful church service and our sweet church family.  Know that our hearts were home at Northfield today.

Later, we stopped at a pearl market and bought a pair of pearl earrings for each of the little girls to wear for their weddings with Grammie's pearl necklace.  Mikaela chose a pinkish pearl bracelet, as well.

We concluded our morning at the Carrefour for more supplies and returned to the room for our lunch of peanut butter crackers, tomato fries, fresh mandarin oranges, and orange juice.  Okay, not the healthiest, maybe but we're able to save some money by snacking at lunchtime each day.

Later in the afternoon, we took a walk to the medicine market.  Interestingly enough, when we came nearly 4 years ago and went to the medicine market, we saw a more raw photo of China.  Visiting the area with a guide, we were taken to the nicer areas.

Everyone looks happy to be in the warmer climate and able to be out and about shopping & sightseeing without being all bundled up. Love the matching outfits on the little ones!
Looks like Saidie has taken a real liking to Mikaela (watch out she might be wanting to sleep in your room at home!). I'm sure she is getting closer to each one by now.
So sweet the little girls will have pearl earrings from China to wear with Grammie's pearl necklace! Brought tears to my eyes. Anxious to see Mikaela's bracelet too! Hope you are able to bring fabric back for Saidie like you did for Maimie too!
So glad Saidie will learn about Jesus now! Good you could go to the temple and see the difference!
Love all the photos! We love you guys and miss you so much. Checked out the house today and it was so empty without you there! Still cold and snow here so enjoy the tropics while you can!
In Christian Love,
Grandma & Grandpa
