Jacob was so excited to get his braces on this past Wednesday. The orthodontist only attached his upper braces this time due to the way his teeth close together. Jacob chose rubber bands in red, white, and blue. Two of his teeth are still way up high in the gumline and have been causing pain and sores from the way the brackets sit. Hopefully in another day or two his mouth will heal and feel better.
Last Friday evening the kids stayed out late to catch lightning bugs. Maimie enjoyed being a part of the hunt and ended with a full box of lights (thanks to a little help from her big brothers and sister).
Ahhh, one more photo to share from our trip to Destin last month. This photo was taken on our last day as we were packing up to leave. We realized we didn't get any photos with palm trees and decided we needed one....even though Dad was in a hurry to get on the road.

Jacob is showing his patriotic side! Go Jacob. Hopefully the mouth will be feeling better soon.
Catching lightning bugs seems to be a tradition with everyone. I remember as a kid doing it and I also remember our kids doing it. I remember all the bug rings!!
