Valentine's Day

Last Valentine's Day we celebrated in China. Maimie had her US Consulate appointment to become an American citizen. This year was less exciting. Maimie and mommy went to the library and picked out some books. We lined them up on the rug at home so that Maimie could choose the order to have them read.

We read, colored, picked up the house, and watched "Ni Hao, Kai Lan". Joseph came home sick from school with ear aches, and we made a trip to the doctor's office. That evening we ate spaghetti and meatballs and heart-shaped cake with pink frosting.

Today, OCDF held an event with Lisa Bentley, author of "Saving Levi". Mikaela, Maimie, Grandma, and I attended the morning meeting and luncheon after being so touched by this incredible story. We had our books signed, and Grandma bought each of the girls their own copy to have Lisa sign. It was such a nice time of hearing Lisa share Levi's story and talking with other adoptive families about their experiences.
