The Red Thread Legend

--When a child is born, invisible red threads reach out from the child's spirit and connect to all the important people who will enter the child's life. As the child grows, the threads shorten, bringing closer those people who are destined to be together.

Ladybugs are said to be a symbol of good luck and are heard to be "spotted" by adoptive parents when a referral is imminent.
