A Busy Christmas Season

On Wednesday, December 12, we drove to Indiana to pick up Mikaela and bring her home for Christmas break.

Thursday, the 13th, we celebrated Saidie's 2 year Gotcha Day.  We ate Chinese food for supper and let Saidie unwrap a little doll we bought for her while in China.  Unfortunately we could not find her China movie, which really disappointed poor Said.  Daddy might be making a new one over his break.

Heading to the midnight showing of The Hobbit

Joseph participated in our high school Madrigal Dinners on the 14th and 15th.  We attended on Saturday evening and really enjoyed the food and performance.

Freshmen

Monday, the 17th, the little girls and I attended a homeschool Christmas party with some other homeschooling families from our church.  The kids made crafts, ate snacks, and played games.  Maim and Said had a wonderful time.

Later this week Maimie got her first library card.  It was a hugely exciting moment for her.  Here she is with the first book she checked out with her new card.

Realizing we had no photos for a Christmas card this year, I coerced everyone to give me a few minutes in coordinating clothes. Turns out I probably won't get around to cards anyway.

Friday evening the kids made "gingerbread" houses with graham crackers, frosting, and candies.  Here are their creative results:
