Today we received the official LSC /approval via the Fed Ex man. It was really exciting and a bit sobering signing the official form and checking the box that we would accept the referral. All of the next forms have been overnighted to the correct US government office, and we hope to hear of the next approval soon.
Our new daughter's Chinese name 沈佳雯 Shen Jia Wen is pronounced "Shun Gee-ah Wun". I was able to check it out by characters on a Chinese website to see what it means. The first part "Shen" is the last name, given to all children in the Shenyang Children's Welfare Institute. "Jia" is the given, or first name. I believe it means good, auspicious; beautiful, delightful; precious. "Wen", the middle name, means something like cloud patterns; coloring of clouds.
A beautiful name for a beautiful girl. Now if we can just agree decide upon an American first name...

It is always nice to find out what the Chinese names mean! She definitely fits the description of her name. Now we are anxious to hear the American name you decide on and what it stands for!

Aww, so cute! My husband's name is Wen. He was born in Taiwan and his parents told him Wen was a popular name in Chinese and there were some famous people with that name. Anyway, he wanted his name used somewhere in our children's names so we named one of our daughters Brijet Caiwen so we could incorporate his name. I hope you guys come up with a cute name soon! Good luck. Deciding on a name is so hard!
