Christmas programs

Well, 'tis the season for Christmas programs--and colds and flus. Unfortunately, this is the third week that someone in our family has been feeling under the weather with the respiratory flu. I've had to miss all of the Christmas programs this year. Mikaela sang with the Peoria Civic Chorale last week, this week Mikaela and Jacob had band and chorus programs and Joseph had his grade school program.
Sunday I managed to make it to church long enough to see Joseph and Maimie in their church program. Joseph sang so nicely and looked very hansome (even with the untucked shirt). Maimie had never attended any of the rehearsals, and had only been to Sunday School one time since December started and she was old enough to attend. Well, she did fine. No singing, but we did see a few motions during "Away in a Manger". She got to hold some bells during one of the songs, but she only shook them until the song started. After that she just held them. Mostly she just stood there like a deer in the headlights, but she did look adorable. All of the still photos are kind of blurry, but maybe Steve will include a video clip later. It's hard to believe we waited for 3 years to see our baby in her first Christmas program.

I think we were all a bit overwhelmed to see Maimie on the riser for the program!!! A few teary eyes in the Monday pew!!! She was adorable doing the motions to the song.
The three older kids always do a fine job in their programs and concerts. Always enjoy seeing them in their activities.

How wonderful for you that Maimie would stand with her class. You got more from her then we got from Lana participating in her first Christmas program last week.

Merry Christmas to you all.
