Today marks one month from the time our dossier went to China (DTC). To fill some of the time while we wait, several of us in our travel group are planning to make "100 Good Wishes Quilts". I heard about the quilts early in the paperwork process, but wasn't certain I needed another project to complete before the baby comes. I decided to take it on anyway and maybe get some help in actually piecing it together when the time comes. (Of course, knowing me, the baby will be 10 before it gets finished!) In a couple of weeks I should have a letter explaining the quilt project and how to participate in it ready to give out to family and close friends. I think it willl make a wonderful keepsake for our daughter.
I believe the Chinese character above means "adoption".
Well, we have our logged in date. It is 11/03/05. Also, we have received emails from the others in our China travel group. Both of the remaining couples have 2 boys each. It's so exciting to start to get to know them and perhaps eventually we will meet before we travel together.
Today I mailed letters about our family to each of the couples in our travel group. I look forward to hearing back from them soon. The family whose letter we already received will be adopting their first child when we are in China. How exciting!
I heard on Christian radio this morning that November is National Adoption Month. No news yet about our logged in date. Also, Lifelink updated their website for tracking information, and we are no longer the "new" guys highlighted in yellow. Two more groups of dossiers have been sent since our dossier was sent. I am reading a great book on China adoption called, The Waiting Child by Cindy Champnella. It's really great.
