At the end of January my dad retired from Caterpillar with 35 years of service. Earlier this month we threw a retirement party open house to honor him.

My mom, Mikaela, and Jacob served the cake, punch, and snacks. Joseph greeted our visitors and then was turned loose with the camera.




We had a nice turn out of well-wishers, and everyone signed a Caterpillar t-shirt as a souvenir for Dad to have as a reminder of his day.

Spring Break

Bathing Beauty

It was so nice to have the kids home for a whole week during spring break. The weather didn't cooperate much, but they did get to spend some time with some good friends on two days.

Dad took one afternoon off to take us to see "Horton Hears a Who". Cute movie with a good moral, but we could have done without the slam to homeschooling. Dad also spent a whole day with us when we visited the Children's Museum in Bloomington and then went rollerskating.

The kids seemed to have a great time, and it was nice just to be out of the house with everyone together.
