100 Good Wishes Quilt Update

I just thought I'd post a little reminder to anyone that is still interested in participating in our baby quilt.

First I'd like to thank everyone who has already sent their quilt squares. We now have received squares and wishes from around 50 friends and family members! It has been so much fun receiving the many different fabrics and wishes. They have been as beautiful and unique as the generous families who have sent each of them. Some of the wishes have brought a smile to my face, some of the wishes have brought tears to my eyes and a lump to my throat, but all of the wishes have brought such gratitude to my heart. It has been very humbling to realize that so many people are partnering with us in praying for, loving, and anticipating the arrival of our daughter. What a special treasure this heirloom will be to her (and to our family) as she wraps up in her quilt, looks at each square, and is reminded of each person and wish that it represents.

I plan to begin sewing the squares together by the end of May or the beginning of June. I will need to know how many squares I will have all together before deciding on the pattern and getting started. If you would still like to share some fabric and a wish, we would love to have you be a part of our quilt.

You will need: (2) 7"x 7" squares of the same fabric--100% cotton, washed and ironed. Your wish can be on a 3x5 or 5x7 index card or any notecard. Please attach a 1"x 1" (or larger, if you prefer) square of your material to the card. This is so that we can make a book from the wish cards which corresponds to each person and their quilt square.

I know everyone is busy and that this might seem a little time consuming. We just want to give everyone ample opportunity to send in their squares if they plan to participate. My goal is to possibly have the quilt completed (or even a smaller "cuddle quilt" completed) to take with us to China when we travel to bring our little sweetie home.

Thank you again for your generosity!
